Molly Stanley

University of Vermont
Department of Biology
Molly Stanley's research focuses on the neurobiology of feeding behavior, using fruit flies as a model organism. Her work investigates how the nervous system detects chemicals in food, senses internal energy and nutrient levels, and forms associations with specific foods to regulate feeding behavior. Specifically, her research aims to understand how specialized taste cells detect food chemicals, integrate metabolic state into food-sensing neural circuits, and how dysregulated food-sensing or metabolism impacts behavior and health.
